Book Development

These are images showing the development throughout my college projects. I can see a general improvement in my work, I have improved the layout of my images and using more artistic words as well as relating artists to my own work.
In the future I would like to improve by trying to add some colour to the background so not each page looks similar, but I would also like to improve general layout skills.

Illustration drawing of Velma form Scooby Doo

This is a drawing I made inspired by a cosplay I found on Instagram, I used a fine liner and Promarkers to add colour and detail to the image. If I could improve I would add some more shading around the facial features to add more definition.
I like how the image isn't too neat and shows the raw texture the Promarker's gives.

Shakespeare Fashion Designs

In the project "Shakespeare" we had to try and re-create a garment that would represent Shakespearean times but also add things that are apocalyptic/futuristic/industrial. I tried to draw lots of different garments that had a variety of lengths/colour/materials/ascetics. Each drawing is surrounded by a brief description of why I chose the things as well as labels that show what parts are made out of.

Lamp post spray paint

This Spray Paint piece of work I did based off an image I took of an old vintage looking lamp. Using the image, I made a stencil which I then sprayed onto using two colours, red and black, although there are some spray droplets and fuzzy outlines I think it adds to the rustic feel the spray paint makes. I like how the gradient effect looks and how the red pops off the page.
If i could change anything I would use blue tack to make sure the stencil stayed still so the work would be a bit sharper.

Robotic Futuristic Photo manipulation

At the start of the "Futures" project I thought about how technology is getting better and better, I thought about how one-day technology might end up inside us humans creating the start of cyborgs. I used Photoshop to edit the images, used the patch tool to remove any imperfections I didn't like on the model e.g. stray hairs, spots. For the USB arm I added the USB port into the arm using an image from Google and put it where I wanted it, if anything was overlapping I used a hard eraser to erase it.

Shakespeare play posters

In celebration of Shakespeare we were asked to recreate posters based on Shakespeare's famous plays, I chose to do Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet, I wanted to keep the posters quite gruesome and violent this is because the plays have a lot of death and sorrow in them. I used my own photographs to add primary research to my work, I took a picture of roses and sprayed fake blood on my hands as Romeo and Juliet is romantic and Macbeth is very violent. I used the software Photoshop to edit the images.

Sheep Skull Ink Drawing

In our Drawing sessions we had been experimenting in multimedia and had a variety of objects to draw using different techniques, my favourite piece was when I used ink and water to add tonal range. I had to try and scale the object up so I could draw it on a large A2 sheet. On the image below I tried to capture the sheep skull at two different angles and added brown paper around the skulls to add a different texture. If I could change anything I would try and add more shadow so there isn't so much negative space around the skulls.

Photography pieces

A personal hobby of mine is Photography, I like how you can capture a memory in just one quick press of a button, I usually go out on a regular basis to take photographs of nature or landscapes, but I also love taking photographs of people. I use Photoshop to edit the images if I don't like something or have something I don't like in the image. I like how the images look as they have a lot of detail in the water droplet and the emotions of the models.

Dodie Clark inspired Photoshop drawing

This is a digital drawing I did inspire by a Youtuber Dodie Clark, i wanted to make a semi-realistic piece using Photoshop, I used 3 personal made brushes to make the image look the way I wanted, I found the image via Dodie Clarks Instagram. If I could change anything I would try and add more detail to the flowers as they don't look very detailed and just a bit sloppy.

Oil spill photo manipulation

The project theme was "Futures" and I though about all the world problems and how the world could look like if we carried on doing these things. I wanted to make a poster type look to grab the audience’s attention and make them think of all the dangerous things we are doing to the world.  If I could change anything I would try and crop the image as the negative space looks odd where as if it was more compact it would look more professional and eye catching.
